25-Man Raid Timer Policy

Postby Snicks » Mon Feb 15, 2010 6:03 pm

Summary of what is open to people to run with PUGs:

OS 25: YES
Naxx 25: YES
Eye 25: YES
Onyxia 25: YES
ToC 25 (normal): YES
Ulduar 25: YES
VoA 25 : YES

ToC 25 (Hard mode) : NO
ToGC 25: NO
ICC 25: NO
Ruby Sanctum 25: NO

* Maybe means that raiders and people that want to be raiders MUST save this timer until the guild runs it. After that it is free. If this is confusing then just ignore the MAYBE and replace it with a NO.

Here is the original text:

=======================================

The following are open to PUGs
For all toons (Raiders/Members/Alts/Initiates): Naxx25, Eye25, OS25, Ulduar25, ToC25 (normal only), VoA25 and Onyxia
For non-raiding Members and Alts only: (Open to Raiders after the guild raid group has downed it for the raid week)

Initiates that are planning to raid should follow the rules as if they are raiders.

This list is subject to change. We will add to it as new content comes out and the Raid progresses. We may also remove items if they become Raid objectives again. We will make sure to advertise any changes to these lists but please review them from time to time as content and raid progression changes.

We have decided to open some 25 man content for pugging, the limitation being we do not want guild members pugging content we are currently raiding. This means no <see above> on alts, raiders, or even social members. We feel that if you pug current 25 man raiding instances this will essentially break guild unity. We want to progress as a guild, not as individuals in a piecemeal manner. This is our stance on this issue, if you feel you cannot be happy under these rules then we suggest you seek out another guild that is more open to this.

This rule has been a CORE part of this guild for a very long time. It was meant to help prevent Raider burn out and to insure that we worked together as much as possible as a guild. Many of us think it is one of the reasons this guild is so tight and weathered some of the issues we have, so this has been a hard decision to come to and one not all of the leadership agrees upon. There are real concerns about every non-raid night becoming a Raider-Alt raid night leaving the rest of the guild short on 5 and 10 man fodder. We think this is something we will have to monitor and if it becomes a problem, we may have to re-evaluate this decision.
